Frisco TX Municipality Election – November 2012

Frisco TX residents came together today tovote for 2 Municipal election in conjunction to the general Presidential election.

The City of Frisco conducted a Municipal election. Voters will be able to vote FOR or AGAINST:

  • Legal sale of Beer and Wine for off-premise consumption – 72% Majority Vote
  • Legal sale of Mixed beverages in restaurants by Food and Beverage Certificate holders only – 78% Majority Vote

What Does This Mumbo Jumbo Mean?

Legal sale of Beer and Wine for off-premise consumption

Beer, malt liquor and wine in a grocery or convenience store.

Legal sale of Mixed beverages in restaurants by Food and Beverage Certificate holders only

Beer, malt liquor, wine and distilled spirits only in a restaurant.


The sale of alcohol in Texas is governed by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (formerly the Texas Liquor Control Board) was created in 1935. The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) is the state agency that regulates all phases of the alcoholic beverage industry in Texas. The duties of the commission include regulating sales, taxation, importation, manufacturing, transporting, and advertising of alcoholic beverages.

Counties in Texas defines the “Wet”, “Partially Wet” or “Dry” areas, which means:

Wet – Defines the type of beverage sale indicated is legal throughout the city, county or precinct.

Partly Wet (PW): Means the type of beverage sale indicated is legal in part of a city or county.

Dry: Means no alcohol sales are allowed in the city, county or precinct.

 

Currently in Frisco TX, prior to the Municipality November 6th 2012 election

Frisco (DENTON county) – W: B-On, B-Off, W-On, W-Off, RM

Frisco (COLLIN county) – W: B-Off, W-Off, RM

The codes are defined as:

B-On: Beer sales allowed for on-premise consumption (in bars and restaurants).

B-Off: Beer sales allowed in stores for off-premise consumption.

W-On: Wine sales allowed for on-premise consumption (in bars and restaurants).

W-Off: Wine sales allowed in stores for off-premise consumption.

RM: Mixed drinks allowed in restaurants.
